The CARE Center programs offer numerous components and benefits that set the Center apart, establishing a foundation that ensures the best possible support and service to children and families.

The CARE Components:

  • A safe, home-like setting and atmosphere for interviewing child abuse victims;
  • State-of-the-art equipment and facilities to insure a minimal number of interviews;
  • Cross-discipline training to insure a trained multidisciplinary team of experts from law enforcement, child protective services, mental health, the District Attorney's office and Children's Hospital to work with children and families.
  • Weekly review of cases;
  • Collection and dissemination of data;
  • Mental health crisis intervention and referral;
  • Counseling for children and non-offending family members;
  • Non-emergent sexual abuse examinations;
  • Court School for children who must testify;
  • Child abuse education for the public.
